Your Fairbanks Firefighters wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We hope everyone celebrates safely and avoids needing our services during the holiday season. Here are a few safety reminders to help ensure we don’t visit your home instead of Santa this Christmas;
- Please be careful with candles or other open flames, especially near flammable objects or decorations.
- Do not overload electrical circuits by plugging in too many lights or other items. Overloaded circuits can lead to fires.
- Be cautious while cooking holiday meals and goodies, never leave any cooking unattended. Be careful where you place hot items such as pots, pans or grease as they may ignite nearby flammable objects or be grabbed by children causing burns.
- Wear safety glasses while firing your new Red Ryder BB gun to avoid shooting your eye out.
- Drive safely while rushing to finish up that last minute shopping or attending holiday festivities. Pease no drinking and driving or texting while driving.
- In case of emergency call 911, your City of Fairbanks Firefighters are here 24/7 throughout the holidays and year round to help keep our community safe.
We wish you and your families the best! Please have a great holiday season and a safe and prosperous new year.
